What is a LARP? It's a type of game where participants physically act out their character's actions in a fictional setting, wearing costumes. Players interact with each other and the environment to advance a story or complete objectives, following a set of rules. 

It's like improvisional theater mixed with game mechanics.

How it works

What?

A 15 hours long western Live Action Role Play with almost endless possibilities, lots of hidden treasures and a gorgeous mountain playground. You will get a custom objective that will guide your actions throughout the game. It's really like being a character in a video game.

Who?

You and up to 26 unique characters. Every player has a custom quest.

Where?

In the fictional valley Grande Oro, a remote beautiful place in the vale Onsernone, Ticino, Switzerland. If you like nature you will be mesmerized by this untouched piece of wilderness. It is reachable by public transport or car and then a two hours hike (relatively flat). For sleeping you will get a bed in a dormitory of a mountain cottage that is rented for the full weekend.

When?

On the weekends from April to mid-June and September to mid-November, the game is played on a regular basis. You will be expected in Spruga, Ticino, Switzerland on Friday 15:00. The event ends on Sunday 17:00.

The next dates for the Gold Rush game are: 

From Friday 15:00, April 10th until Sunday 17:00, April 12th.

How?

WE set up a high end immersive western playground.

WE provide a high end personalized and authentic western costume.

WE attribute you one of 20 custom characters with a unique quest. 

WE play 6 characters that act as game masters, directing the story.

WE give you a set of rules developed for a maximum of gameplay freedom while keeping it safe. 

YOU incorporate your character guided by it's quest.

YOU follow your quest full of obstacles riddles and treasures. 

YOU learn the intuitive set of rules for the game.

YOU use your imagination to transport yourself to the wild west.

YOU prepare a background story for your character to deepen the immersion.

Costumes

By participating at the Gold Rush game you get the chance to select every part of your western costume in our dressroom. Our collection is huge; real fur coats, leather jackets, wool pants, hats of all shapes, vests, belts, gloves, bags, you name it...we have it!

Our dressroom is in Biel/Bienne, Switerland. You will have to get your costume there.

Sensitive content

Caution: Safety and respect during the game are top priorities. But be aware that for immersive and authenticity purposes you will face sensitive content like theatrical bad language and violence (there's no fighting, but you could get tied up for example). This might be disturbing or triggering to some. A safespace and the safeword "Taxi" can be used at all time in moments of distress. Get in touch with us if you want to clarify whether it could be a problem for you. 

Requirements

In order to participate in the game you must:

• Have a good physical condition. It is required to hike (not uphill) for 2 hours to access the location. 

• Have a good mental condition. Some situations in the game can be triggering. 

• Have basic english language skills. 

• Be okay with sensitive content. There's theatrical bad language and violence in the game.

• Be in Spruga, Ticino, Switzerland on friday at 15:00

• Pick up your costume in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland before the game.
